Our History

A quick history of Plaine and Son:
In 1945, after returning from defeating the Germans in Europe, Lou Plaine and his brother opened Plaine and Son with the GI packages they had earned. Since then, Plaine and Son and its affiliates have been at the forefront of customer service. Whether it be our size and performance guarantee, researched price or our innovative Rider Involved Technical Assembly (RITA), Plaine and Son has what it takes to make you happy

What makes Plaine and Son unique?
All of our stores offer a lounge area complete with a mini fridge and coffee station to make customers feel welcome. Our stores also feature all clubs day every Wednesday which allows members of local teams to purchase all of our products at 10% off as well as our parts swap which lets them grab parts from our part bins for no cost.

Why shop at Plaine and Son?
We strive for the highest level of customer experience. We want our buyers to feel that they received what they paid for. We partnered with our local chapter of Girl's Inc. and sponsored a bike team for under privileged girls and out fitted them with high end road bikes and kits. We also have our S-Works for charity. Offered to anybody going on a group ride or race, they can take one of our S-Works road bikes out for no charge. For every mile recorded we will donate to the Mohawk Hudson Human Society.

Which brands does Plaine and Son carry?
Our main lines we carry are Specialized, Giant and Cannondale. We also offer the less expensive high quality Schwinn Signature line.

More reasons why you'll love visiting our stores:
Our "Size and Performance Guarantee" offers the rider a chance to swap their new bike for another one if they find after the first few rides, the bike isn't the right size or type of bike for them. Researched Price refers to all of our merchandise which is researched and competitively priced with our online competitors. This lets the consumers know that they are getting what they want for a great price. Rider Involved Technical Assembly (RITA) puts the assembly and service process right in front of the rider. If you plan on purchasing a new bike or need service done to your current bike, we offer you the chance to watch as we assemble and explain how we put together or service the bicycle.
